12 Stories About Growing Up
Cuida Bem de Mim (Take Care of Me) is a 12-episode animated series, each episode one minute long, created to promote positive parenting models. Commissioned by the National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Young People, with executive production by GesEntrepreneur, Itsanashow Studio was chosen as the creative partner for the entire series.
THE CHALLENGE
The series needed to address everyday situations that help children and parents identify, understand, and navigate their emotions and relationships, covering developmental stages from ages 4 through 12. The visual and narrative language had to work across this broad age range without feeling too childish for older children or too complex for younger ones. Representation mattered too: the series needed to reflect the diversity of real family structures, from traditional to single-parent, same-sex, and legal guardian households.
THE SOLUTION
We developed a visual language built on strong, vibrant colors, minimalist and immediately recognizable scenarios, and characters with simple but expressive features. The storytelling was grounded in situations and emotions every child and parent can relate to, told with warmth and without judgment.
Music was treated as a core narrative tool, not an afterthought. Lyrics and rhythms were designed to be catchy and age-appropriate, evolving in tone and style across the 12 episodes to follow the developmental arc of the series. Songs were crafted to stay with children long after the episode ends.
